LEAGUE DIVISIONS
The following is a brief overview of our various divisions. Please read the descriptions carefully to better understand which division may be right for your child.
T-Ball (Ages 4-6)
T-Ball is a non-competitive league, designed around having fun learning the game of baseball. It involves one practice during the week and a game on Saturday that lasts about 1½ hours. The fundamentals of throwing, catching and hitting are stressed, and players hit off a tee or later in the season, coach pitch. A soft baseball is used. All practices and games are at the Belmont Sports Complex. Teams are formed by members of the Board of Directors, and buddy requests are honored whenever possible. Depending on registration volume, T-Ball may be split into two subdivisions: "Rookies" (i.e., new T-Ball players) and "Veterans" (i.e., returning T-Ball players).

Single A (formerly Farm, Ages 6-8)
Single A is our first division in Minors and is a non-competitive division, with emphasis on skills development. No scores are kept, and there are no standings. Batters hit from a coach pitch. Each player gets 5 pitches. If the player is unable to hit any of the 5 pitches, then a batting tee is used. Teams practice twice a week and play one game each Saturday (occasionally Sunday). Most games are played at Ralston Middle School or Fox Elementary School. The age range for AA is 6 to 8 though the league may determine a player to be more aptly-suited in T-Ball based on age, maturity, skill level, safety, etc. Teams are formed by members of the Board of Directors, and buddy requests are honored whenever possible.
AA (Ages 7-10)
AA is our middle division in Minors and is a semi-competitive division. Scores are kept in games, but seasons standings are not kept. Batters hit from a pitching machine in most games, and there will be some player pitching. Teams practice twice a week and play one to two games per weekend. The age range for AA is 7 to 10. Placement is dependent upon tryouts and the draft, and therefore no buddy requests will be honored. Those age 9 and age 10 are guaranteed spots. All teams participate in the year end City Tournament.
AAA (Ages 8-11)
AAA is the top division in Minors and our first competitive division. It is designed to prepare players for Majors. Players pitch, and standings are kept. Teams will practice 3 times a week during the preseason. During the season, teams will usually have 1-2 games and 1-2 practices per week. The age range for AAA is 8 to 11. Placement is dependent upon tryouts and the draft. Those age 11 are guaranteed spots. All teams participate in the year end City Tournament, and those selected for All-Stars will participate in the Minors Superbowl in June or Little League All-Star Tournament in July.
Majors (Ages 10-12)
Majors is the most competitive division in the traditional Little League program. Players pitch and standings are kept. Teams will practice 3 times a week during the preseason. During the season, teams will usually have 2 games and 1-2 practices per week. All games are played on the Marina Field at the Belmont Sports Complex. The age range for Majors is 10 to 12. Placement is dependent upon tryouts and the draft. Those age 12 are guaranteed spots. All teams participate in the year end City Tournament, and those selected for All-Stars will participate in the Majors Superbowl in June or Little League All-Star Tournament in July.
Juniors 80 (Ages 13-14)
Juniors 80 division is either the 1st or 2nd step beyond the traditional Little League program. This division is for players who are 13-14 years old. Games are played on a larger field which feature a 54 foot pitching distance and 80 foot base paths. Full baseball rules included lead-offs and unrestricted stealing are used, and batter may use full sized (big barrel) bats. Teams play against other leagues in District 52, which runs from Palo Alto to Pacifica. There will in general be 2 games and 2 practices per week. Scores and standing are kept, and all teams participate in a year-end tournament. Placement is dependent upon tryouts and the draft, but the goal is to place everyone who signs up. Those selected for All-Stars will participate in the Little League All-Star Tournament in July.
