Become an Umpire
BRSLL is always recruiting additional youth and adult umpires of all levels for the season. Umpire training, equipment and uniforms will be provided by the league.
Training Sessions - Every first-time umpire must complete both (i) Rules and (ii) Field Mechanics training sessions below. Experienced umpires are strongly encouraged to attend the Rules training as some of the rules may have changed since you last attended. Anyone who wishes to umpire behind home plate is required to attend the Plate Mechanics training.
- Little League Rules: TBA
- Field/Plate Mechanics: TBA
- Farm and AA Umpires Training: TBA
Youth Umpires: BRSLL seeks umpires, 13 years of age and up, for AAA and Majors level games. Umpires are required to attend training sessions and are expected to work one game per weekend and may elect to work 3-4 games per week. Umpires are paid or may elect to receive community service hours in lieu of being paid. Past BRSLL participation is not required.
Adult Umpires: Adult volunteers very important members of our league and help to ensure that our children enjoy their baseball experience. Umpiring is an excellent way to serve your community and help our youth sports program.
Refer-a-Friend: We are always looking for additional umpires, so pass along this information to anybody that hasn't heard about the program. You will receive a $15 referral bonus for each youth umpire and a $50 referral bonus for each adult (mom/dad, neighbor, etc.) umpire you recruit that has not umpired for BRSLL in the past and umpires at least one game this season. Ask you referral to put your name on the Application Form under "How did you hear about us?"
If you would like to become an umpire, or have friends who might be interested, please email the chief umpire at [email protected] with any questions and your interest. Thank you and we look forward to an exciting season of BRSLL baseball.
