When does the season begin?
Opening Day is typically the first weekend in March, and T-Ball games start the following weekend. The season ends by early June. T-Ball’s last game will be before Memorial Day.
When/Where is practice?
T-Ball teams holds practice once a week for one hour. The exact time of the practice is determined by the Team Manager. All T-ball practices are held at the Belmont Sports Complex.
Can I pick my practice day?
When you register, you can indicate your preferred days and the board will do everything it can to give you one of those days. You can help the board out by giving us as many options as possible.
Can we play on a team with friends?
Yes, buddy requests are honored in T-Ball (and also A Division). Please indicate your requests when you register or email [email protected].
Game Duration/Innings/Scoring?
T-Ball games consist of 3 innings, with every player from each team batting every inning. No scores or standings are kept.
Is there "Live" Pitching?
No. A Batting Tee is used through the season, though some teams may do limited coach pitch late in the season for kids who are ready.
What are Field Dimensions?
The teams play on a standard T-Ball Baseball Field with 50 feet between the bases.
What type of Ball / Bat is used?
A Standard T-Ball "Soft Core" Little League Baseball is used along with an "Approved by Little League Baseball" T-Ball Baseball Bat.
What ages play T-Ball?
T-Ball is for all 4- to 6-year-olds (according to the Little League age chart).
What Equipment is required?
Parents only need to provide a glove. Hats, shirts and socks are supplied by the BRSLL for each player. While the league has bats and helmets to share, we strongly encourage parents provide their own for hygiene purposes. Cleats are optional but recommended. At T-Ball, boys can choose to wear a Protective Cup, but it is strongly encouraged.
How many teams are there?
Depending on registration levels and number of volunteers, there are usually 10 - 12 teams total with 10 - 13 players per team. We strive to have teams as small as possible, but this depends on how many volunteer coaches we have.
What positions are there?
All players are in the field each inning. There are generally 7 infield positions and 5 - 6 outfield positions. Players are rotated to different positions throughout the game.
Coaching?
There is 1 Manager and 2 - 3 Assistant coaches per team. Coaches are encouraged to be positioned on the Field with the Players to promote instruction and act as "Umpires".
What is the season length?
Typically, each team plays 8-10 games per season depending on the weather conditions during the Spring. There are no make-up games in the T-ball division.
Is there a Parade and/or banners?
All Players participate in the Opening Day Parade at Belmont Sports Complex. Teams do not create banners for the parade or games.
Is there a Picture Day?
Yes, in early March we will hold a Photo Day for Team and Individual Photos. Picture Day is held at the Belmont Sports Complex.
Does Belmont/Redwood Shores Little League have any special events?
Yes, we host our annual Hit-A-Thon fundraiser in late April or early May.
Additionally, we join other local area Little Leagues on Little League Day at AT&T Park for a San Francisco Giants Baseball Game.
How can I help?
Our League is dependent on volunteers and no baseball knowledge is required, Managers, Coaches, Team Parents, Field Set‐Up and Photographers are all necessary for a successful season. If you are interested in volunteering please indicate during registration or contact the T-Ball Division Coordinator via the web site (www.brsll.org).
